We have been involved in the breed since 1989. We are a small but serious kennel. Our goal is to produce healthy dogs with great temperaments, yet remaining very typey and sound with a limited breeding program.
All of our dogs are companions first and show dogs second. We limit our breedings to one or two a year and occasionally have older dogs available.

"We" are Kathy & Ed Coffman. Our family consists only of Akitas, they ARE our children.

Kathy is a professional Pet Groomer (Grooming Tail's Pet Boutique) and a former Grooming School Instructor.

Ed is the supervisor of Maryland SHA's Statewide Operations Center for the office of CHART and ITS Development

We are members of the Akita Club of America, and the Greater Baltimore Akita Club. All of our breedings conform to the ACA Code of Ethics. All of our breeding dogs are OFA'd, and Cerf registered Current. We are in the process of adding Elbow and Patellas to our health screenings. Thyroid panels are done by Michigan State University and Thyroid registrations are also being added. All puppies are placed in approved lifetime homes only, on Spay/Neuter Contracts. "Show Potential Puppies" are also placed on contracts that may contain breeding restrictions.
